Protocol

01Cell migration
In a scratch wound-healing assay, higher concentrations of AX01 single-origin PdRN resulted in faster skin cell migration for repair.
02Inflammatory markers
With increasing concentration of PdRN, the proteins that inflame skin and degrade collagen decrease, measured by quantitative PCR. AX01 is formulated at the maximum soluble PdRN concentration of 20,000 ppm.

Science

AX01 is powered by polydeoxyribonucleotide (PdRN), a bioactive compound derived from the sperm cells of salmon. In skin, PdRN calms visible redness and supports the natural renewal of the dermal matrix.

Skin aging is driven in part by a decline in cellular turnover and barrier function, and by DNA damage that accumulates as repair grows less efficient, leaving skin duller and less elastic.

Mechanistically, PdRN supplies nucleotides through the salvage pathway and selectively engages the adenosine A2A receptor, activating ERK / MAPK signaling to drive fibroblast proliferation, migration and collagen synthesis.

PdRN also tempers UV-driven pigmentation. Paired with niacinamide and glutathione, it helps buffer the hyperpigmentation, uneven tone and textural change that follow UV exposure.
